Learning for Life
The journey of lifelong learning is an exciting one. Mastering something difficult can be a source of joy, just as much as frustration.
When I work with a pupil I need to get to know them and how they learn. I need to know what they have learnt, understood and remembered and what has escaped! Practice, games, mnemonics, explanations, repetition all have a part to play in building confidence and mastery.
With over thirty years in schools working with children of all ages, I can offer first-class help for a pupil that wants to close gaps, get ahead, succeed in an exam or just master something for its own pleasure.
My beliefs about how children succeed stem from a lifetime of making sure they do.
Teaching your child: I offer one-to-one teaching to boost confidence and self-esteem. Complementing the school’s teaching, I have supported preparation for SATs in Primary English and Maths, Verbal and Non-verbal reasoning for 11+ , ISEB and independent school entry tests and the Kent test. I can enhance your child’s performance in French and Latin, preparing for GCSE/CE success and I can offer French at all levels for adults.
